SnapBooks — Account & Data Deletion
This page explains how to delete your SnapBooks account and associated data.
How to delete your account (in the app)
- Open SnapBooks.
- Go to Settings.
- Under Account, tap
Delete account & data. - Select
Delete account + cloud dataand confirm. - If asked to re-authenticate, sign in again and retry deletion (this is required by Google/Firebase security rules).
What data is deleted
- Cloud data (if you used sign-in / sync):
- Your saved expenses/receipts stored in our cloud database (Firebase/Firestore) under your user account.
- Your cloud backup snapshot (if created).
- Your preferences stored with your account (currency, categories, backup preference, etc.).
- Account: Your SnapBooks Firebase authentication account will be deleted (the account used for Google sign-in within SnapBooks).
- Local device data:
- Guest-mode expenses stored locally on your device.
- Guest-mode preferences stored locally on your device.
- Local usage/limit counters stored on your device (scan/export quota tracking).
- Local theme preference stored on your device.
What data may be kept
- Payment records and transaction history managed by Google Play and/or subscription providers may be retained by those providers for their own legal/accounting requirements.
- We may retain minimal technical/security logs for fraud prevention and security auditing.
Retention period
- In-app deletion removes your app data and account immediately when possible.
- Some logs (if any) may be retained for up to 30 days for security/compliance purposes and then removed.
