SnapBooks — Account & Data Deletion

This page explains how to delete your SnapBooks account and associated data.

How to delete your account (in the app)

  1. Open SnapBooks.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Under Account, tap Delete account & data.
  4. Select Delete account + cloud data and confirm.
  5. If asked to re-authenticate, sign in again and retry deletion (this is required by Google/Firebase security rules).

What data is deleted

  • Cloud data (if you used sign-in / sync):
    • Your saved expenses/receipts stored in our cloud database (Firebase/Firestore) under your user account.
    • Your cloud backup snapshot (if created).
    • Your preferences stored with your account (currency, categories, backup preference, etc.).
  • Account: Your SnapBooks Firebase authentication account will be deleted (the account used for Google sign-in within SnapBooks).
  • Local device data:
    • Guest-mode expenses stored locally on your device.
    • Guest-mode preferences stored locally on your device.
    • Local usage/limit counters stored on your device (scan/export quota tracking).
    • Local theme preference stored on your device.

What data may be kept

  • Payment records and transaction history managed by Google Play and/or subscription providers may be retained by those providers for their own legal/accounting requirements.
  • We may retain minimal technical/security logs for fraud prevention and security auditing.

Retention period

  • In-app deletion removes your app data and account immediately when possible.
  • Some logs (if any) may be retained for up to 30 days for security/compliance purposes and then removed.
